"Re-evaluate what you value" seems like a great mantra for the next six weeks as Venus lounges in her retrograde cycle. (Venus is retrograde from December 21 to January 31.)
Venus' arena includes the people, places, objects, and experiences we value and treasure. Therefore, given that retrograde periods are a time for slowing down to reflect and nurture inner awareness, this period can be yield some profound new insights into our relationship to relationships, pleasure, beauty, and money, arenas of life that are in Venus' realm.
This isn't to say that this period may be completely smooth sailing and without challenges. After all, it's a time when undiscovered needs and values may emerge; our awareness of them may have us seeing the landscape quite differently, including things we may not have previously noticed, or wanted to notice. What's required in the resolution of a new view and the synthesis of a new awareness could cast a somewhat challenging hue upon this time (notably if we were "fine" with things as just the way they were). Yet, if we can reframe what emerges as gifts, rather than detriments, as important missing pieces discovered rather than superfluous annoyances that arise, we may experience this time as one in which our engagement with and synthesis of hidden treasures allows us to move forward in our lives from a space of more harmony, integrity, and wholeness.
This time period is one where it’s beneficial to turn inward to receive clearer answers to such questions as:

There are many flower essences that seem well suited for the Venus retrograde period, those that can address different aspects of the issues that may come forth. I offer you three examples here—Impatiens, Buttercup, and Pretty Face. See if any of them resonate with you as elixirs to help you to more gracefully navigate this time. (Flower essences are made from flower-infused water and work energetically to restore emotional and mental balance. You can find them in natural food stores or holistic pharmacies.)
Impatiens: Retrograde periods are a time for going slow and reflecting, rather than taking full-on outer-directed action. And yet, culturally we're more used to doing than being, acting than contemplating, and so this patient approach may be challenging for many. If you need support slowing down and waiting, harmonizing with the more yin-like rhythm that is infused in the retrograde period, consider Impatiens flower essence.
Buttercup: Venus retrograde is often a time when we learn more about how (dare I say, whether) we treasure ourselves. If you find that your heart and mind are bursting with inner dialogues of minimal self worth and that it's challenging to affirm your sense of value, consider Buttercup flower essence. It can help us connect to the radiant light that shines within, nurturing our confidence that we are a great asset, one replete with inner gold.
Pretty Face: In a society bombarded with commercialized ideals of glamour and youth, the emphasis on looking a certain way may be a source of deflation and emotional debilitation for many. Given that Venus is yielding a new vantage point on this arena during her retrograde period, our negative stories about our individual beauty may become quite loud/apparent during this time. Pretty Face flower essence encourages us to move our attention away from the external as the arbiter of beauty, allowing us to connect to the radiant sense of inner beauty that we all have, accepting ourselves in a deeper and richer way.
